I have ADSL from my ISP via Qwest using an Actiontec 1524 DSL modem. What I've been told is that this a router gateway. I am trying to connect a Netgear WGT624 Wireless Firewall Router to the Actiontec modem.

I've disabled the DHCP on the Netgear router and set its LAN IP to 192.168.0.151 (address that does not conflict with the Actiontec), but still no luck.

I do not have a static IP with my ISP.

I would appreciate any help with this or any advice.

Thanks.

Connect your machine straight to the DSL modem and reboot. When you come up, from command line issue IPCONFIG /ALL and see what it lists as you IP and your Gateway. Record this information. If it is public, you will need to set your Netgear to obtain an IP, if not see below.

Connect your machine to the NetGear and reboot. Open your web console for the Netgear and make its IP and gateway the same as what you recorded above.

Connect the Netgear to the DSL modem and reboot everything just to be safe. You should then be able to get on...

Thanks,
