Is it possible to set up a VPN between a PIX 506E and an ASA5505 (or 2 506E's or 2 5505's) with a crossover cable? The only access to these 2 devices would be my PC plugging into the Console port. They will NOT be on a network, just used for testing purposes. Thanks for reading my question!

That should work fine. When they are up, make sure the spped and duplex match by
sho interface

Thanks, Brent. Do I need to add those port IP addresses to ACL's on both devices?

The interfaces will need IPs and if you want to pass non-VPN traffic through them you will need to allow it with the ACL and a static to map the external and internal IPs together.

Don't forget that you will need to ensure you define the pc's under the acl's for interesting traffic so that the vpn comes up.
