I'd like to be able to program 5 to 8 analog lines in my Option 11C and connect them to an Asterisk server. I've looked at Digium's products and was thinking if I got one of the FXO cards and connected from Option 11C to the FXO ports in the Asterisk server, 1 to 1, I could route the calls to SIP phones off an IP switch in another building which is fiber connected. Has anyone tried this? We're a non-profit without alot of money to spend so a Line Side T1 card for the Option 11C is looking a bit expensive especially with our VAR's (AT&T) markup. I also have 5 ports available on a Universal Trunk card and was thinking maybe those could be programmed to route the calls but then I'd need to make some changes in BARS and I'm not too comfortable with that. Any advice and feedback, positive or negative is appreciated.

not having an astrick server to play with i can't answer that part of the question but as far as bars.. make the changes in ld 87 new cdp dsc... point the new steering codes usign distant steering codes.. then just dial the dn instead of 9 plus the dn.. a little less headache then adding spn's in ld 90
