Hi all,
Wich would be the best method in the folowing situation.
There should be 2 networks. And 2 internet connections with a fixed IP.
each network has its own connection to the internet. But I want to connect the 2 networks toghetter to.
Should I do this with a router that can have 4 networks?
So that I can simply say that interface 1 is internet connection 1 and interface 2 is internetconnection 2
and then interface 3 is network 1 and interface 4 is network 2
then add some routes like everyting from interface 3 has a default gw to interface 1 and everything from interface 4 has default gateway to interface 2.
then everything that comes from interface 3 and is supposed for the network of interface 4 is sended out to interface 4 etc.. withougt filtering between interface 3 and 4.
Our can I do the same thing with some kind of VLANS and managed switch.
Or would it even be better to have 2 fixed IP's on one internet connection so that a connection to port 80 on the first fixed ip goes to network one and on the second it goes to network 2. and use the second internet connection as some kind of backup line..
tanks in advance.
tank you,
best regards,
