I have 2 BCM400's at the same site (4.0 Linux)
Is it possible to link the 2 together so I can have voicemail, etc. on one and sets, etc. on the other
This is a large site that requires more sets and resources than 1 BCM400 can offer

Yes, even though they are at the same site, you will need an MCDN/Q.Sig keycode from Nortel. I network using VoIP trunking, but with VoIP trunks, you can't page across the network, but you can call, tandem, transfer, etc.

If you network using a PRI or other methods, then you can page across the network. I have never set a network up using anything but VoIP but they covered it in the Networking training class. You can also dig through your BCM CD and find it there.

The basic steps for networking are fairly simple, You will need to have the systems will different staring DNs and a 4 digit DN range to network using Coordinated Dialing Plan (CDP), example, A has 2221 and B has 3221.

The steps include, after you have entered your keycodes, building a Route and Destination code that points to the correct line pool, go to your Private Network tab and tell it the DN length and network type (CDP), Go to your IP Trunking and tell it what protocol to use, H.323 or SIP (I use H.323) and add the Destination digit (1st digit of the remote DN range), the remote unit's Published IP Address, and assign the correct line pool for the private network.

If you have set the systems up using DID Template, then the target line already have the correct private digit assigned to them. If you haven't go to the target lines and assign DN numbers to them in the private box so the calls coming across the network knows where to go.

Most of what Crow said is right except that you CAN page over the gateways if you turn on Remote Paging on the VOIP Trunks. Let me know if you need any help with that application.

I could use some help with it.

Every Nortel Network training doc I have from Global says paging isn't supported across the VoIP trunking, so I never attempted to set up the remote paging.

What's the procedure, NewTechinTown, if you don't mind helping an old dog out here (and a forgetful one at that).
