I have 2 Linksys Wireless Ap/Routers. I want to bridge one so that it acts as an AP. How do I do it? So far I've had no luck getting the AP to give out internet access or IP's.
I have setup the right SSID and Channel for both wireless devices.

The DHCP server is connected to the linksys AP/Router.

Setup is as follows:
modem->Gateway->Router/DHCP->Wireless AP/Router -- AP

LEGEND: -> = directly connected
-- = wireless connection

Thanks for any help with this. Rninja

I fell in to the same trap. The AP/Routers whether they be Linksys, D-Link, whatever, are connection points only. Clients connect to Access Points. Access Points do not connect to other Access Points directly through wireless. What you need is a Bridge. Linksys makes the WEP11, Dlink makes the DWL-900AP. These units can be changed to operate in several modes. Since you have Access Points, you have to set a WEP11, 900AP to Client Mode. This will make the WEP11, 900AP the same as any other wireless network card on the network. Then you can use a crossover cable or the uplink port on your 2nd Linksys and hard wire the 900AP, WEP11 to it. The 2nd Linksys AP will then just extend your service range, the 900AP, WEP11 will complete your wireless connection.

Hope this sheds some light on the subject.
