hi
I'm using red hat 6.0 (only for the moment, while I wait for an upgrade CD to arrive)
anyway, I'm using KPPP to connect to the net using freeserve ISP...I can connect perfectly with no problems, and can see on my external modem i'm connected...however when i open netscape and try and open a site i get the message that my $SOCKS_NS server isn't coinfigurd.
It isn't simply netscape that doesn't work, lynx also cannot open any sites.
does anyone have any ideas what it could be??
i see alot of options in KPPP setup but not sure what they mean.
my freeserve ISP is english and shouldn't require any special parameters, so what would a default setting be??
ALL comments/suggestions welcome
thanx y'all
JoE
