I know this question has been asked, but in reading the other threads, I still cannot connect through the actiontec 1524.

I am trying to use pcanywhere to connect to a remote computer. The computer is on dsl behind an actiontec 1524 dsl modem.

I went to the advanced setup and did the port forwarding (forwarded ports 5631-5632 to the computer ip address). However, the connection still times out when I try to connect.

I know that pcanywhere host is running on the computer.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance.

Make sure the firewall on the computer is off or setup to pass pcanywhere. Did you save and restart your router?

Bo,

Thanks for the comments. I think that the problem was that the router was taking longer than the timeout on pcanywhere. When I tried with a newer version (11) it was able to connect.

Thanks again!
