Hello,
Ok so I have an interesting setup and am having issues getting everything to work "right". Sorry if this is a bit long. Thanks in advance!
I have my personal laptop that has Vista 64. I also have a work machine at home running XP (32 bit). On my work machine, I access my work's VPN so I can upload and download files via the program that I use (Eclipse with Subversion SVN plug-in).
Well that's fine and dandy, it works but I don't want to be on my work machine all the time. For one, all I have is the computer, no monitor, mouse or keyboard. For another I want to be on my "newer" laptop because I can either be anywhere in the house or have my laptop hooked up to my personal monitor, keyboard. Yes I know I can have my work machine hooked up to those peripherals BUT I like having my laptop hooked up because I then have a dual screen setup, it's faster, etc...I also don't want to be switching all the time nor have current funds for a KVM.
Anyway I have no problem being able to VNC into my work machine from my laptop. BUT as soon as I try to connect to my VPN from my work machine (via VNC on the laptop), I get kicked off of the VNC server. As far as I understand that is because the VPN "takes" over the network connection and the machine is no longer on my network but on my work's network. If I am wrong please correct me.
I thought I could solve that by getting a VPN client for my Vista 64 machine....wrong. I haven't been able to find a client that will work on Vista 64 o_0 .
If anyone can come up with a solution, besides quit being lazy or get over it etc., I'm all ears..well in this case eyes
Thanks again.
