I want to connect to the BESFR41 router remotely. The router im connecting to has a static IP.Will I need this IP to make the initial connection to the router?I have the pass, and user info for the router, and I have remote manage feature enabled.Thanks.

You need the WAN IP and the port, usually 8080.

It goes something like this...

What you need to do is DISABLED BLOCK WAN REQUEST..
this may get in your way and not process your request..

also you will need the WAN ip of the router and enable remote management its at default set to 8080..

well you may also want to check the isp in which that system is on if they block specific ports and just specify a new port on the remote management feature of the router..

after that your use your IE or NETSCAPE or others and just on the address bar type ip:8080

Basically!!! i am one of them!!!! the techies!!!!!!

to do that:

1. Go to the advance tab of your router setup page
2. Click on the Filters tab
3. Browse down, look for the part where you see an option to disable and enable
4. Disable only the block wan request, and enable everything
5. Go to the remote computer
6. type on your i.e. ip of the router you want to access:8080
7. You will be ask for a username and password
8. connected
