Hi All,

When trying to refresh the data in a excel pivot table based on an AS cube,
it fails with the error msg...

[red]"Cannot connect to the server 'XXX'. The server is either not started or too
busy."[/red]

The excel file was originally created on the machine which the AS server
sits on and was working fine, until tested on a different workstation. The
user has been added to the AS Servers Administrators and OLAP Admins grps,
and ports 2393 & 2394 have been opened on both server and client.

Important point(?) - Server is using Developer Ed. SQL and AS. Does this
allow client connections?

Server:[blue]
SQL 2000 (Developer Ed.) sp4
AS 2000 (Developer Ed.) sp4
Windows XP sp2
Office 2003 sp1[/blue]

Client:[blue]
Windows XP sp2
Office 2003 sp1[/blue]

Thanks in advance,

Casey.

It is my understanding that you need the Enterprise Edition to allow clients into AS, at least with SQL Svr 2000.
