I have a WIN XP PRO and win2k pro ws at home and need to connect to an office LAN (NT 4 Server) over the internet. I can ping the office server but can't connect . Help Please. Do i need to enable something on the server? Thanks

To connect to an NT server over the internet, you will need a VPN solution. This could be hardware on the server, and software on the client, or could be software at both ends. NT 4 does not come with VPN software. Win2k, however, does come with VPN software.

Short of the VPN solution, you could use remote control software to remotely control the server (WinVNC, pcAnywhere, etc.). WinVNC is free and is very good, but does not support file transfers.

Hope this answers your question.
