Connect to MDE datasource

Hello,
Does anyone know if Crystal Reports 11 can connect to an MDE datasource? When I try to connect to the MDE, Crystal gives me an error and shuts down. This is my first time connecting to an MDE. I am not sure if I get an error because of a bug in Crystal Reports or if you just can't connect to this type of datasource. Thanks

Connecting to an mde is just the same as connecting to an mdb. I have found no issues in CR11 in connecting to MDE files. Does the mde run OK in Access?

MDE runs fine in Access. It is a secured MDE...I entered in the username/pw info in Crystal and pointed it to the security file....I still get an error though and Crystal shuts down. If I leave the username and p/w blank in Crystal, I can connect to the MDE (it shows the list of tables, etc...). But the tables contain no fieldnames when I try to create a report.
