connect to internet through MS proxy server

i am using linux mandrake 8,2 with samba installed. can i connect to internet through MS proxy server?
i have been tried to put in my MS proxy server's IP into linux web browser, when i connect to a website.. it prompt up authentification box to ask me to enter user id and password, even i entered the correct user id and password, it always failed.
please help.

Proxy Server is likely authenticating using the NTLM authentication method, which is only supported by IE.

Check your setting on Proxy Server. You should be able to switch the authentication method to basic. ______________________________________________________________________
