Please help me!
I want connect to another database file from current database through VBA code.
thanks for yours answer

How much work do you want to do with this 'other' dbase file ?

If it is an occasional read then maybe ODBC would be a good way to go.

If it is regular read and write then linking the 'other' dbase to yours will be easier.

Are both databases on the same drive ?

Do they both share the same System.mdw file ( or any other security model framework )

???????????????????????????

ALL is possible.
But as usual with access - the devil lies in the detail.

Thanks for your reply,
I made function back up and store data to another dbase file by monthly and now i want to call back that data from current dbase. I don't have any security model framework.

The 'simple' solution is to go into the Tables window and click on Files, Get External Data, Link Tables
You then get a dialogue box which you use to navigate to the target xxx.mdb file
Then select the table that within that containing the backup data that you want.

You'll then have that table appear as in the database window but with a black arrow on the left. This arrow identifies it as a linked table.

You can then use this table in exactly the same way as a real table. The difference is that it is 'just a link' The real data is still stored to, and recrieved from, the archive database.

'ope-that-'elps.
