Connect to a AS400

Hello,

What do i need to connect to our as400? Do i need any app loaded on the 400? what odbc do i need for the pc? where can i get the odbc?

You need an odbc (or OLEDB) driver.

IBM supplies a free one with Client Express.

The 400 side bit will already have all that is needed, but you may need to start some servers if they aren't already running.

When the company i work for bought this 400, they bought the bare minimum. I don't think we have Client Express. Can i just download the odbc(or OLEDB) driver?

How do you connect to the AS400 at the moment?

Regardless of what you've acquired I think you will have the Client Access CD's anyway. Do confirm.

as for getting the software you need to order it from IBM.
Either contact your supplier or go to
