Hi,
I use my G4 to administer a website which is served from an old G3 on the other side of the world. At present, I use the copy of phpMyAdmin on the server to work with the MySQL databases there.
I would like change this system and use my local copy of phpMyAdmin, connecting remotely to the server's databases. Reason - purely speed, as the G3 often takes 10 seconds or so process the various php scripts needed for each page.
The server's copy of phpMyAdmin logs in as root perfectly well, but I can't log in as root from my computer using the same password (nor can I using a GUI tool like CocoaMySQL). I understand that remote logins are either allowed or not, but don't know what I need to do to change this.
Bearing in mind the server's running OSX Server 10.2, what settings do I have to change to permit remote logins to MySQL???? (NB. - I have complete access to the computer via Timbuktu.)
Thanks for any help!!!
