the release on the small office is 2.1(24)
is impossible?
i just want to admin the machine trough the modem inside the small office, instead of connecting trough a isdn line i have to do it trough an analog one
There is a short code *9000 which turns on the modem on line 1.
You can then build a Dial service on you V32 modem on the PC use the Remote manager service name and password.
It may also be necessary to se the IPOffice so it gives out IP address on remote dial in only this is on the LAN tab.
If the short code *9000 doesn’t work us the following to build the short code.
Modem in SOE
There is now an option to enable/disable the SOE internal V32 modem on Line 1 via a shortcode, as follows.
Shortcode: *99 (example)
Telephone number: "MAINTENANCE"
Line Group ID: 0
Feature: RelayOn
This shortcode will activate and deactivate the modem. Line 1 can still be used for outgoing calls when activated, all incoming calls will be answered by the modem.
NOTE: When activated by this shortcode, the "Modem Enabled" tick box under Line 1 in Manager will not show the current status - ie. will be unticked even when the modem is active.
When the modem is active the SOE Power/status light will flash orange.
I had a similar problem once on a multi-system demo. The problem was that I had a valid IP Route to the IP address of the modem through my network card (think multi-homed PC). So in the middle of the modem negotiation the modem traffic started being routed to the network card and the authentication failed.
Try disabling your network card and any other network device on your PC and see if you can connect.
