Connect IP manager over the internet

Hi

Is it possible to connect to our Avaya PBX over the internet without VPN.

Though it would be possible to setup IP Manager as a softphone, and point to our router, then port forward to PBX?

Is this possible?

Are there any other options?

It is very insecure and i would not do it.
You better build a vpn tunnel.

Indeed, VPN will be needed, but even then it's never going to be perfect, all traffic is equal on the net
