connect from sql server management studio to a remote ms sql server

i want to know how to configure ms sql server management studio to connect to a ms sql server 2005 database on the internet. i have the ip address of the ms sql server machine, the databse name, the login user name and password. my web application uses the above parameters to connect to the database and read/write data.

but i need to write some transact sql commands from query analizer and do some database management from a gui like sql server management studio. so how do i configure the management studio to be able to query/analyze the data in the ms sql server database ?

please help.

Did you try putting the IP address in the 'Server Name' box on the login screen?
