Connect ESS to AIX Docs

I am trying to understand how do we configure ESS to an AIX box and tried to search the whole net for some good docs, but in vain could not find one.

I am a completely new starter on ESS, it would be great if someone can help in pointing to the right set of docs to understand ESS.
