Connect COBOL(IMS) & JAVA using MQ-Series.

I'm trying to connect COBOL (IMS) and a JAVA application using MQ-Series.I want to do this in a simulated CA-Realia.
CA-Realia(Developed by Computer Associates) is an environment that simulates Mainframes.In CA-Realia we can (if you do not know!!!)develop COBOL applications with IMS,CICS etc.

So, Is it technically feasible to connect CA-Realia COBOL,MQ-Series and a java application.Pls clarify my doubt so that I can start with the next step.
