Hi, has anyone ever done this? Is it even possible?

I have this request from a client and am looking into it but till now I have not found anything. There seems to be something possible with communication manager but not with IP Office.

Thanks

I believe the Alcatel can do H.323 or SIP so should be possible either way.

Any system should be able to connect almost anything as long as the protocols are the same at both ends.

Alcatels are a nightmare though.

Any past experience with Alcatels?

I was thinking to start testing with a trial vce netw license, an H323 line to the alcatel pabx, and point certain specific extensions using ARS or short codes.

Rest should be up to alcatel I guess

I would try sip first as H.323 is often more difficult between two different brands.

BAZINGA!

I'm not insane, my mother had me tested!

The biggest problem you will have with the Alcatel is licensing.

If they don't have the VoIP board and licensing already, you will have a nightmare getting out of them. They can take an age to get licenses back and won't license older kits depending on their mood!!!

We have a few legacy Alcatels on contract and I hate everything about them!!

Does another dealer look after the French crap???

I have done it at our demo system using a SIP trunk.

Works like a charm
