Connect Access to online source?

I've got an Access database of various information. I'd like to take this file and put it on a webserver.

Each workstation has webaccess to said server. My question is, is it possible to link an Access table on a desktop workstation to the table of the online database so that when the desktop updates a record it updates the source on the web.

I've got an example of such a setup where my local file saved on my desk top has these odd looking table icons that are connected to a SQL Database but I was wondering if the same could be done with access.

For those that wonder why I want to do this....

Currently I've got an Access application with a front end and a back end. The backend sits on a network drive, the front end on the user desktop. I would like to be able to add some ASP web reports for a handful of users who do not run or need Access.
