Hi everybody,

We have a Nortel meridian PBX and we are trying to connect a new pri to the system. Can anyone tell me what i need to do to correctly connect this pri and make the phonenumbers available in the system?

thanks in advance,

Marcel

the phone numbers are a given, if the co is sending 4 digits and you need 4, it's done. you just add exten with those dn's.. assuming it's a did.. you need a new route with 23 members and you need to build a d channel in load 17, a few of the things you'll need to know is the interface type, sig type and trunk type.. i can help with the prompts if you get stuck, or post similar software from my switch, also switch type helps determine the prompts you may see, is the the 1st pri in your switch? that adds a few places to turn it on usually

dang, I have the worksheets for everything you need to add pri to a system, but I'm at work and they are at home. I will check later and post the steps for you, if someone does not do so by then.

Hi John,

We are using 3 digits in the system, we currently have 2 ranges on our system and this should be a third range.

do you have a pri in your switch today?

Hi John,

Yes there is a pri in the switch today, the switch has 2 pri's alway's active (and in use)

that makes it eaiser, if your in a ll, don't have to worry about cequ, but the new pri needs to be in the 1'st cab on an 11, in load 22 prt adan, you'll see at least one dch, you'll need to answer those prompts when you add another d in load 17, chg adan new dch x.. 1st 3 lines...after that ld 16 new rdb.. at the isdn enter yes.. teh prompts after that arer the same as your present pri.. in ld 14 new 23 and answer the prompts for the trunks.. no burns their 8 or so prompts.. then load 96 and take the steps needed to download your tmdi card...load 60 enll x on the loop, the d should est withen 3 minutes.. if you get a dta023 after bringing the pri up, that tells you that you have layer 1 perfect back to the office.. dta030 means just the oppsite, i can't see the far end...get stuck, repost..one of us will jump in

We changed the PRI config so it now contains the exact same phonenumbers the old one had and simply inserted it in the meridian. This seems to work for a few hours and then it somehow fails. Can someone help me find what might be causing this?

I asked the PRI provider but they say it's the meridian that is causing the problem.

If this is a new route, check to make sure your clocking and threasholds match your existing PRI route in ld 73. Sounds like your in freerun.

that's the only thing the provider knows how to say, if the pri is in the same slot your clocking is probley correct, ld 60
ssck 0

shows clocking (post that)
ld 60
lcnt

shows errors

post that
