Hi,

I have 2 computers that exchange a lot of information.
Can I buy a cross over cable and add 2 gigabit network cards and connect them?

Thanks in advance.

Many gig NICs actualy do auto-polarity and so do not need a cross over, just a normal cable, I would read the box. Mind you if you already have the cross over, it is fine.

I tried to remain child-like, all I acheived was childish.

If you want to make sure it will connect at gig speeds then you need a cat 6 crossover cable .

cat 5e is sufficient for gigabit transfers.
