Conneceting to DB via ODBC - delta between CR 8.5 & XI

I wrote reports in CR 8.5 with the DB being MS Access. The connection was ODBC. works great!

After installing CR XI, opening the old reports (8.5) worked. What did not work was refreshing (running them) in XI....Database connectivity error.DAO error

Q: Does anyone know:
1)why I need DAO if the connectivity is ODBC
2)if i need to create a new connection / re-map tables
3)how to solve my problem !

I'd follow their suggestion and repoint the connection using DAO.

A simple means is to use the Database->Set database location and repoint using DAO.
