People - I am being brought back to the 20th Century with a bang!

I have a customer that is swapping out for a Mitel 3300 (CXI - they have 3 phones and want the POE) but they have 1 PSTN line (a 2 pair coming into the building) with 2 numbers on it!! They will not be talked into converting to ISDN2 - how does this line physically connect to the 3300?? And is there anything else i should be aware of...

They will be buying a betamax video next....

There are 6 RJ-11 jacks on the back of the CXi to connect loop start trunks. The line you speak of would connect to one of them. The distinctive ringing that probably exists on the line will be lost. Functionally it is only 1 line as far as the 3300 is concerned. Both numbers will need to be handled identically (including voicemail)

if you are going to use the PSTN to dial out on. The co trunk circuit descriptor has the audio inhibit until answer supervision setting which set is yes by default. This can cause the one way audio for the first 5 - 10 seconds of the call.

Also when connecting the line make sure the system can sieze it by direct trunk select. If you get busy then it may be reversed which can cause strange inbound ringing and stop outbound calls. If you do get busy and the circuit is idle reverse the 2 wires.
