Hello again
I've 'inherited' 2 production partitions here at work built on 570's, both part of a 2 node HACMP cluster. I've been asked to look into why they're reporting the OS at a different earlier level than they should. So far I've not been able to get an answer on what OS level they think it should be but I've done the following:
oslevel -s
5200-10-01-0000
lppchk -v
lppchk: The following filesets need to be installed or corrected to bring the system to a consistent state:
csm.server 1.6.0.0 (not installed; requisite fileset)
vac.html.common.search 6.0.0.0 (usr: not installed, root: COMMITTED)
I'd like to concentrate on the csm package here. Doing an lslpp shows multiple csm packages already installed:
lslpp -l | grep -i csm
csm.bluegene 1.6.0.10 APPLIED CSM support on Blue Gene
csm.client 1.6.0.10 APPLIED Cluster Systems Management
csm.core 1.6.0.10 APPLIED Cluster Systems Management
csm.deploy 1.6.0.10 APPLIED Cluster Systems Management
csm.diagnostics 1.6.0.10 APPLIED Cluster Systems Management
csm.dsh 1.6.0.10 APPLIED Cluster Systems Management Dsh
csm.gui.dcem 1.6.0.10 APPLIED Distributed Command Execution
csm.gui.websm 1.6.0.10 APPLIED CSM Graphical User Interface
csm.hc_utils 1.6.0.10 APPLIED Cluster Systems Management
csm.hpsnm 1.4.1.17 APPLIED IBM Switch Network Manager
csm.msg.EN_US.core 1.4.0.0 COMMITTED CSM Core Func Msgs - U.S.
csm.msg.en_US.core 1.4.0.0 COMMITTED CSM Core Func Msgs - U.S.
csm.bluegene 1.6.0.0 COMMITTED CSM support on Blue Gene

csm.deploy 1.6.0.0 COMMITTED Cluster Systems Management
csm.diagnostics 1.6.0.0 COMMITTED Cluster Systems Management
csm.dsh 1.6.0.0 COMMITTED Cluster Systems Management Dsh
csm.hc_utils 1.6.0.10 APPLIED Cluster Systems Management
csm.hpsnm 1.4.1.17 APPLIED IBM Switch Network Manager
Now to my queries.....
If I go to install cms.server, it wants a lot more pre-requisites installing, and who knows what pre-requisites they'll need. I'm thinking the simplest way out of this is to remove the csm packages already installed.
Can anyone confirm that csm packages are seperate from ha cluster packages, ie these are not in use by hacmp?
Finally, is there a way to tell if these packages are actually used?
Thanks.
