Excuse my ignorance. We are now just starting to resort to SIP trunks over pots lines and I'm a bit overwhelmed.

Do I need a separate SIP URI for each DID or is there a trick to setting up one and having all the DID's work from ICR?

This particular SIP trunk is authenticating via our public IP address and I can't get calls to go through unless I enter the DID number in the Local URI field for EACH DID.

Edit: It seems I need a unique SIP URI for each DID I have created in ICR. Normal?

Nope.

You need a single entry set to * * * or Auto Auto Auto to allow any number to be entered into the ICR.

This is an older release (9.0) and doesn't have the auto setting for any of those fields like 10.0 and above does...

So just manually enter a * in all those fields?

Yep, one URI with *s for the 3 sections

Okay, quick follow up... What determines outbound caller ID? I've seen the ARS table with Ns######### but does that work with SIP?

Ugh, client cannot make a call if one person is already on a sip call.

I did that and outbound shows anonymous still.

What would be limiting two SIP calls from happening at the same time?

Here's what my SIP URI's look like. Am I doing something wrong?

If you want to control the outbound CID via the ARS entry (NS1112223333), use the line group id for the SIP URI that is */*/*

If you want to control the outbound CID via the User's SIP Tab, use the line group id for the SIP URI that is Internal/Internal/Internal

Also make sure CLI presentation is turned on on the SIP trunk at the providers end.

Another BIG question Jay
you are authenticating Via Public IP address
how have you set the IPO to achieve that & how have you configured the router?
Get this wrong & your system will get hacked very quickly

Do things on the cheap & it will cost you dear

IPGuru, I have the IPO behind a firewall with a policy in place for SIP, blocking outside access from everything other than the SIP provider.

* given to Jay to highlight just how important it is to get this correct.
