Hi all

I have a 1000m with release 4.0 software ( not upgrading ) and on the same large site a 1000e (gradually taking over the extensions) running release 6. They are connected using 100 h323 trunks with the nrs on the 1000e.

The trunks on both switches are in zone 255 and the media cards on the 1000m and the dsp's on the 1000e in zone 2 set for bb-bb at both ends.

The ntp's are a little unclear as to what the vpni should be set for either the same or different.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

The Bandwidth Zones are network wide so what it means is:

Switch A all Sets in zone 2 all trunks in Zone 255
Switch B all Sets in zone 2 all trunks in Zone 255

VPNI's the same call is treated as INTRAZONE
VPNI's Different calls treated as INTERZONE

It s covered in the Converging the "Data Network
with VoIP Fundamentals" NTP NN43001-260
