HELP!!!!!

Our MD has a o2 xda which he sync's with our email server via gprs and active sync which works great!!!!
our problem is when he is in the building he wants it to do the same but via the wireless capabillity of the unit with the need of changing the ip addresses that it sync with.

Example...xda set to connect to our external ip address 1.2.3.4 via gprs all ok

xda set to connect to our external ip address 1.2.3.4 even when he is local to the network and recieve emails......

another way to look at it was OWA 1.2.3.4/exchange when connected to our wireless network but this just hangs and give page cannot be displayed.......

Please help really confused by it all!!!!!

Many thanks

lee

It seems to me that as long as you are using the FQDN of the server instead of the IP address then you shouldn't have any issue. If you're using the carrier's mobile data network it should resolve, and when you switch to your internal 802.11 network it should still resolve.

The key issues are:

1. Getting the device to operate on your company's 802.11 network,

and

2. Making sure that the device uses the 802.11 whenever it is available and not the carriers mobile data network.

Have you got those two sorted?
