Hi, I have Office 2000 on a machine with Windows 2000, which was working fine. I have recently installed Adobe Acrobat 5.0, and I get the following error when I start Word.
'The OLEAUT32.DLL is out of date. The Program requires a newer version.'
I have also noticed that Adobe Reader won't start when Office is loaded, I get the following message
'Adobe has generated errors and will be shut down.'
Also, once I uninstall Adobe Acrobat Office works fine, as does Acrobat if I unistall Office.
Has anybody else had similar problems. I have installed service pack I for Office and this does not have any effect. Michael Kohler

Thanks for the reply, but I already tried this and it did not work. I ended up putting Acorbat on a different machine and it works fine. I still don't know why it didn't work on the first machine.

I seem to recall a similar problem, I think I removed Acrobat Reader and Acrobat 5, reinstalled MS Office and then installed Acrobat 5 on top. No reader. There is some significance to the order of installation. Good luck.

Thanks for the reply, that worked great.
