Any info on why my Windows2000 systems re-boot themselves when 4.5 AV is installed would be greatly appreciated.

Whew - been a while since a post in this group.<br><br>Can't help ya, I have W2k installed on Dell Optiplex and Dimension computers, and I have no problem with McAfee 4.5 at all.&nbsp;&nbsp; If you are up to it, I would try loading a second OS (98 or NT) and see if you get the same problem.<br><br>Good luck! <p> Anonymous God<br><a href=mailto: anongod@hotmail.com> anongod@hotmail.com</a><br><a href= > </a><br>"Drawing on my fine command of language, I said nothing.

I don't know if you provide all the info or not, but there is a NOREBOOT option that's needs to be set. Did you use the MSI package to install?

The most likly cause of a reboot loop in windows 2000 is that you have an earlier verison of Adaptec DirectCD installed. The issue was resolved by Adaptec with version 3.0.1d of DirectCD. The following NAI url has further details:

If you have already installed 4.5 on a Windows 2000 PC and are experiencing constant reboots go into safemode, uninstall VirusScan, reboot, install adaptec update, then install VirusScan. If you cannot get into safemode then you will need to disable the mcshield service via the recovery console.

Good Luck
