Oi, we are working on a disaster-recovery project and we just discovered that after a restore sql server 2000 is working well. Nothing special ?
We use :
Windows 2000 SP2 + SQL2K SP2 + Arcserve NT/WIN2K + Backup Agent for Open Files. So we are NOT USING the Sql Server Agent. Sql Server is running while Arcserve is doing the backup.
Question :
The Arcserve logs confirm that all *.mdf en *.ldf are backup'd. After a restore, all mdf- and ldf-files are indeed restored. Starting Sql Server and verifying if database are corrupt with dbcc checkdb. Verifying error-logs from sql server. Everything OK. Does this mean that it is possible to backup a running Sql Server and restoring it succesfully. I like to have confirmation of you are experiencing the same behaviour.
Thanks a lot !
Peter.
