I want to configure windows 2000 domain controller. how do i do do it. i do not have a qualified domain name. i want to make it a local one. i have one PC running windows 2000 server and 5 workstation where one has windows 98 and rest have windows 2000.

please help me.

Don't forget that the active directory is really only set up to work with 2k Pro, 2k server and xp pro. You may need to research how to get 98 into the picture. I have been told there is a way..

I'm running a WIN2K server, 3 WINXP, and 1 WIN98 machine without any problems. To make the WIN98 machine work in the domain, in the "workgroup name" box on the WIN98 machine put the name of the domain.

if you want to use Activedirectory with 98 you must download the software for it by microsoft.
