I work with (25) windows 2000 workstations. Every time when a new person wants to use a different workstation I have to enter them into that particular workstation. This is getting tiresome. Is there anyway to synchronize the workstations with my Novell network server? ->(Meaning is there anyway that I could enter the name on the Novell server just once and people could use any workstation they want to while keeping the same type of security?)

If you have ZENworks, use Dynamic Local User (for DLU to work, you have to have Workstation Manager installed as part of the Novell Client). When a user types their Novell login name and password in, DLU will create a local account on the workstation with the same details (username and password) as the Novell login ID and no further authentication is required.

If you do not have ZENworks, you can configure your workstations to automatically log into W2K, I only know how to do it in NT but post back if you want those details. -----------------------------------------------------

There are two types of zenworks. One for the server and the other for desktops. which one will work better in this case?

It is part of ZENworks for Desktops. You actually configure DLU in a User Package object within NWAdmin. As long as you have Workstation Manager installed as an option on your NW Client install, it will work.

The following URL should aid you:
