configuring ssh on an C6509 switch

Hello all,
I cannot configure ssh on a Cisco 6509 switch. I cannot enter the command "crypto generate key" and similar commands which are needed to enable ssh on the seitch. Does anybody have an idea about the reason of that? Can it depend on the IOS software of the switch?

yes, you need to have a crypto image (typically k9 will appear somewhere in the image name). post a sh ver
