I've installed Oracle 8i (8.1.6) on AIX and the database has created fine but I can't configure SQLPLUS for the server. I can get in with TNSNAMES from an NT client but running SQLPLUS on the server gives the following:
"Message file sp1<lang>.msb not found
Error 6 initializing SQL*Plus"

Any Ideas?

I don't know the answer to your question - but my first reaction would be to uninstal and reinstall SQL*Plus on the AIX box.

Do you have the *.msb files on the AIX box?

Mike
michael.j.lacey@ntlworld.com
<a href= Cargill's Corporate Web Site
How you set all of your environment variable to point where
the oracle home is installed. If the install went well and
didn't give you any problem. I would check my environment first be reinstalling
