I have a customer with medium volume calls and their main number comes in as a DID on the PRI T-1. I have it setup with the DNIS on a target line and that target lines prime set as 221 and the operator with 5 intercom keys. Is this the best idea for handling incomming calls. NEXT ISSUE: they now want 3 other phones to "delay ring" when the operator doesn't answer her phone. I am wondering if I will have to use DRT to some other fake extension that is Answer DN on the 3 phones. Does anyone have any good ideas. Thank you soooooooooooooooooooooooooo much ahead of time.

you didn't mention what software you are running on this system. Let us know. Will make a big difference on what you can and can't do, or how. If you have 4.0 or newer, you could flow the calls from 221 to a hunt groups etc. You could put multiple appearances of the target line on 221 instead of intercoms. All depends on your software.

running 6.0 The idea of multiple appearances of the target line would only allow 1 call at a time though, correct? Also I don't see where the Delay ring could happen with the target lines. By the way thanks for working with me on this Marv01

Multiple apearances of the target line on a phone would allow as many calls as there are appearences of the target line. It will not flow to your intercom buttons so when all of your target line appearances are busy the did will get a busy.

Since you have ver 6.0 you can make up two hunt groups. the first hunt group would have one member (ring only), 221, with the target line assigned to it. have the first hunt group overflow to the second hunt group (15 sec min). make up a second hunt group with members assigned to it as the other numbers you want to back-up your attendent(ring only). set this group to broadcast. If you are using hunt groups you cannot have line appearances (Regular or target) on the phone that you want the hunt group to ring at so make enough line appearances to allow call handeling.

Calls would come in to the system and go to the target line. the target line would ring to the first hunt group where your attendent would see the call on the i/c lines. If the attendent did not answer within 15 sec the call would go to the second hunt group where all of the member phones would ring, these calls would also appear on the intercom keys.
