configuring Microsoft outlook as qmail client

Hello,
I have configured qmail in my premesis. I could able to send the mail to the users from Outlook. But to receive the mail through outlook, it gives the authentication error saying that 'your username or password was rejected, authorization failed. error no. 0x800ccc92'. But I have installed qmail-pop3d and also checkpassword. It gives it is running when I execute the script 'qmailctl stat'. pl. suggest me how to go about.

Your first troubleshooting step is to verify that POP3's password system is working properly.

Use telnet to open a connection to port 110 on your qmail box. When the connection is made, issue the following commands:

user <the userid in question>[enter]
pass <the cleartext password in question>[enter]

If all went well, you should be able to enter POP3 commands to your server, LIST shows all entries in the mailbox, RETR <number> will retrieve messge number <number>, DELE will delete message number <number>, QUIT will disconnect.

If you can connect to POP3 and browse the mailbox this way, then the problem is on the Outlook side. If you cannot, then you still need to look at your qmail configuration. ______________________________________________________________________
