Greetings!
My system is running on:
* IBM Director 5.10
* IBM System Storage DS4000/FAStT storage Manger 9
I have configured the Email alert from IBM System Storage DS4000 and it works but I have no idea how to configure SNMP from there.I would like to monitor SAN from IBM Director. I've scoured Google and found that SNMP can be used. Unfortunately I am not familiar with SNMP.
Also, I've read somewhere that you can install the SMI-S provider on the machine Storage Manager is running on and add that machine into Director as an SMI-S Storage Device. Is this true?
My Questions are:
1. Is SNMP method the only way I can monitor SAN from IBM Director?
2. I have no idea how to configure SNMP. Is there any information, links and documents for newbies??
