Does anyone have a link or an installation readme about how to successfully setup GW 5.2 to dialup to any ISP and retreive email?

I had a tech yesterday call me from onsite asking me how to change the username/password and phone number for a dialup account on a GroupWise server. I have never done this before. We checked the GWIA settings and I think he found the username/passwords but still can not figure where we would change the dialup telephone number.

It was working fine until the enduser changed ISP accounts. The DNS A and MX records have been updated correctly for the new ISP connection.

I have no idea, and I really thought no one would be using that type of service now days. It was a small law office needing the help.

I have searched thru Novell's support site, Google, and GWMAG.com (Novell) but have found no useful information.

Anyway, I would appreciate any links, tech-notes, or lessons learned.

Thanks in Advance,

Hi JTB

I think we need more info.
You have two authentications taking place, one is the dialup and one is the ETRN (Mail Queue) Authentication.

The dialup itself can be done in many ways:
- Ext. Router
- Modem on Server
- ISDN Adapter in Server

The Ext. Router holds the config data, incl. dialup account and pw.
For the later two, one can either use a third party SW or NIAS (Novell Internet Access Server) assuming your Netware version is not too old (you didn't provide the version info)
That's the place to alter the number, etc.

The Etrn authentication is configured in GWIA as you already know.

If that's not what you were looking for, let us know. And pls. provide more info.

regards,
Alain
