All,
I am attempting to rebuild my Solaris kernel to support 2 CPUs. Is anyone aware of a parameter(s) used in /etc/system to set the number of CPU's ?

John

John,

can't you just do a boot -r (from the OK prompt, having shut the system down) to get the system to automatically recognise the extra CPU as it boots? Hope this helps.

After installing the second CPU module, reboot and the system should see it.

Priot to shutdown do a : psrinfo -v ( this will give you all the info concerning the existing processor)

After installation of the new processor and a normal reboot
( just boot). Do a psrinfo -v and you should see the new processor.

Just to confirm, there are no parameters to change. Follow the above recommendations.

Whilst at the boot prompt you could also type the following to give CPU details: -
