Anyone out there know how e911 should be configured in an 81c?
For instance should we use CLID tables that associate DIDs to each DN/phone?
Or use the CLID for the outbound number with a DESI field tagged along?
Any information on this from someone who has set it up would be helpful
Thanks

E911 is an advanced form of 911 service that requires that the calling party send the CLID of their telephone (PBX ext including nxx) to the Public Safety Answering Point (PSAP) where it is cross referenced with an address database that you provide and keep updated so they may determine the caller's location. You will have to program and maintain CLID tables in the pbx for this service. Also available is Nortel's Emergency Service s Access software $$$!! (Packages 329 330 331 that will notify a user in your pbx via a key and their display as to who called 911 from your pbx. These are not required however for you to sen out individual CLIDs. You ned PRI trunks and your local telco provide has to send each individual CLID coming from your pbs to the PSAP.
