Hi, I am building a new CPS4 farm with 8 servers. We have 4 prod servers (Win2k3) hosting all Citrix Apps. We have another 4 CPS4 servers on the same subnet connected to the farm which are at our DR site. These do not host any apps and are to be used in case we lose the 4 prod servers.

Is there a way to quickly publish apps currently hosted by the prod servers to the DR servers? This means removing references to the prod servers from each individual application and adding the DR server names.

We publish 40 applications so doing this manually would take a long time.

Thanks,

Cam.

One possibility:
Publish the application to all 8 servers. You can use the CMC to set the properties of the servers that you don't want to be avaliable to disabled.
Possible issue is if you need to access the servers through another published application since all would be unavailable on those servers.

Why do these servers need to be in a "stand by" mode. Why not publish to all 8. If you lose 4 servers you are still running. Seems odd to leave 4 servers setting there idle.

Create another zone, have the 4 DR servers in one zone (. Create a failover policy, designate one zone as primary and your other zone as backup (DR), works fine.
