Presentation Server 4.0 on 2003 server.
I have a modem installed and working on the P4 server, but it is not available in Citrix Connection Configuration. According to the Citrix Admin guide-- it should be available as an option after installing the modem. But according to Microsoft, creating this async port for citrix is no longer supported in 2003 server, although they don't say why...
I need to get this modem working to connect remotely to citrix in emergency situations-- when our internet connection goes down. I assume there are other techs out there who would desire this feature to work in such a scenario. Is there a way to do this, a way around this, a way to do it with Terminal Services if not with citrix? Does anyone have any ideas on this? Thanks.

I've setup and tested this method- a modem connected, with Routing and Remote Access configured on the 2003 server, dial-in permissions given to one user, and it works-- it allows me to connect to the modem, then login to a server through Remote Desktop. Although slow, this will accomplish what I wanted-- an emergency connection in the event of downed broadband service.

Question to throw out there - are there any issues with having this setup? It is something that will be used rarely. When in use, noone else will be connected. Security issues should be minimal with point to point dialup, true?

Thanks...........
