I am trying to setup BARS to backup to a shared network drive. When I add the drive into the storgae location it authentictaes with no problem and starts working but then I recieve the following message.

[08:39:19 AM] Could not build archive successfully.

I can do a local backup with no problems but this is obviously not what i want to do

Anybody got any suggestions?

check the permissions on the shared drive/folder?

When you set up the storage location in BARS are you specifying a username and password that has permission to access the folder?

Yes it has permission on the directory it is copying it to. The problem is that the ccm is not on our domain and sits on a seperate workgroup. Can I still back this up to a network directory if it is not on the domain?

Yes, this is how I have mine set up. My CallManager is in a workground and backs up to a file server that is a member of the domain. In the BARS web interface I have a storage location specified with a username entered in the format of "DOMAIN\Username" I haven't had any problems with this setup.

make sure you set the directory persmissions to "everyone full control" on the backup target.
