For child-care reasons, I'd like to test a call recording solution from home. Since recording solutions only kick in when the receiver is picked up it poses a conundrum, since I can't physically be here to answer a call. My thought is that I'd program the phone at my desk to auto-answer using the built-in speakerphone. Thus, I could call it from home and have it answer, thus enabling the recording solution.

Does anyone know if I could program auto-answer to pick up and use the speakerphone instead of the receiver? For the record, I have a Definity G3R (Communication Manger 1 release), and we use 64xx series phones.

Any help would be appreciated!

If you are going to use auto-answer, why not connect a headset, log into the phone and leave it off hook?

Or, why don't you set yourself up with IP Agent?

Wow that's a pretty old system. I know in 5.2 and above you can set the station on page 2 to auto answer to speaker. I am not sure in your version.

Tell me about it. This system is 15 years old and should've been replaced 5 years ago.

Ya know, JCTech01 - I think you're on to something. On page 2, one of the options is icom. That's gotta be the speaker - not sure why I didn't notice that before (probably looking for spkr or something like that).

I never got auto answer to work, but I'll give it another go.
