I've got problems configuring alerter to send SMTP messages to a specific adress. When I send a testmail, I get error 20 (unable to send SMTP message) Where can I configure the SMTP relay server to send the mails to? Or how do I configure alerter to get the SMTP stuff working? Neither the onlinehelp nor the administrator guide of InoculateIT 6.0 has given my any hints...

You need to setup the IIS smtp server in order for SMTP alerting to work. CA was so nice to add SMTP alert without and help what so ever.

Thanks for the reply. I think I read your tip already in the CA forum. My problem actually is that I installed the SMTP Service part of IIS but still don't get this thing working cause I have to less knowledge about the SMTP service part. But I think it can't be *that* complicated, can it?

Regards

Samuel

Well I was in the same boat as you. I had our system administrator actually setup the SMTP part of it. I wish I could be more help, but I don't know how to set that part up myself. I know it does work, I get emails all the time.
I will see if he has time to give me some more info on how he did it. If he does I will post it here.
